Full description

Your meeting point is the entrance of the Spice Market in the heart of Istanbul. Begin your journey by taking a local bus to explore Fener, revealing the heritage of Istanbul.

Fener/Balat district, one of the city's oldest neighborhoods that once hosted Ottoman Orthodox and Jewish residents. Observe remnants of Ottoman life, including wooden houses, mosques, churches, and synagogues, illustrating the multicultural and religious aspects of the Ottoman Empire.

After a leisurely walk through the cobblestone streets of the Fener/Balat World Heritage area, continue along the historic Byzantine city walls dating back to the 4th century AD and the time of Constantine the Great.

You'll see the exterior of the historic Eyüp Mosque complex, a sacred area where pilgrims visit mosques and tombs of Muslim saints. Take a short cable car ride to the famous Pierre Loti Café, a local meeting point.

Sip a drink in one of the cafés where French poet Pierre Loti was inspired to write "Aziyade," a part biography and part love story about his adventures in Istanbul in the late 1800s.

Walk back to Eyüp, board the local ferry for a cruise on the blue waters of the Golden Horn. After exploring Ottoman houses, shipyards, the old and new Galata bridges, the Atatürk Bridge, ancient city walls, mosques, churches, and other historical and modern sites, the tour will conclude at either Eminönü or Karaköy Harbor.
