Full description

Join us on a Gobekli Tepe Tour to the heart of Mesopotamia, where history, legend, and archaeology meet. Your private tour begins in Sanliurfa, known as the City of Prophets. From the moment you arrive—either at Sanliurfa GAP Airport or your hotel—you’ll be welcomed by your professional local guide and set off to discover the region’s most iconic sites.

Our first destination is the extraordinary archaeological site of Gobekli Tepe, believed to be the world’s oldest known temple, dating back over 12,000 years. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has dramatically changed how we view early human history. As you walk among its intricately carved T-shaped megaliths, you’ll gain insight into the spiritual life of hunter-gatherer societies long before the invention of farming. Learn how this sacred site rewrote the timeline of civilization and religion.

Next, you’ll travel to Harran, one of the world’s longest-inhabited settlements and an important crossroads on the ancient Silk Road. Famed for its beehive-shaped houses, Harran was once a center of science, culture, and religion. You’ll explore the Harran Mound, the remains of Harran University—the first Islamic university in Anatolia—and the wooden-domed Camii el-Firdevs, commissioned by the Umayyad caliph Mervan. Don’t miss the atmospheric city walls and Inner Castle, steeped in history.

The tour concludes in Sanliurfa city center, where sacred and cultural landmarks await. Visit Halil-ur Rahman Mosque, the mystical Balikli Gol (Pool of Sacred Fish), and the Cave of Abraham, believed to be his birthplace. Explore traditional Sanliurfa bazaars like Sipahi, Kazzaz, and Naccar, and enjoy stops at the Rizvaniye Mosque, Ulu Mosque, Historical Customs House, and the Kitchen Museum.

At the end of the day, we’ll drop you off at your preferred location, leaving you with a deeper appreciation for the spiritual and historical roots of Mesopotamia.
