We meet you at your hotel or the location of your choice with your licensed local guide and head towards Sumela Monastery in the comfort of our private vehicle. After a pleasant one-hour drive, we arrive at the breathtaking Altındere National Park, one of the most popular destinations in the Black Sea region. Surrounded by lush nature, we make our way to Sumela Monastery, first by using the shuttle services within the National Park, and then continuing with a 350-meter walk through a forest path. If you wish, you can visit St. Barbara Chapel along the way, offering stunning views of Sumela Monastery.
Upon arrival at the monastery, you will be greeted by historic aqueducts, stone stairways, and spacious social areas. The majestic exterior of Sumela Monastery, reminiscent of medieval castles, invites you to take a short break and admire the unique surrounding landscape. We then enter through the stone stairways and explore the monastery complex, including the main rock church, student rooms, library, guesthouse, and the holy spring, all guided by your licensed guide. They will provide fascinating insights into the historical, cultural, and religious significance of the monastery.
After our visit, we descend through the forest path and return to the social facilities of the National Park, where you’ll have free time for shopping and enjoying the amenities. Finally, we head back to Trabzon, concluding our tour. We bid you farewell, hoping to see you again on another adventure.
